To buy or to sketch

Should I sketch my own design and construct my own pattern? Or should I skip the highway and purchase a sewing pattern? huhu I’m so lazy lah nowadays, I wanna make more craft~ :panic:

I want to make something similar, like these… looks easy kan? ps:

As for the fabric… I’m looking for something bright and funky like these…

I really like the Black and White Zebra prints by Paula Prass from her Summer Soiree Collection, but it is so hard to find lah. Most of it already sold out ;( So, I’m thinking of using houndstooth pattern from Summer Soiree or Alexander Henry’s.

Actually, my top fave fabric for messenger bag is this one (Alexander Henry – Nicole Prints – Headtrip in Charcoal) I’m a sucka for SKULLS Prints~ lalala~   weeeeeeeeeeee~~ :cheer:

p/s:  just got back from PJ, and i’m down with a fever. Took a leave from work today, too tired. Hopefully I’ll get better tomorrow! :yuck:

notions and stuff

Mula-mula kita sketch design atas kertas. Supaya tak tersilap potong nanti. Part ni penting la bagi saya, sebab saya suka guna designer fabric yang saya beli dari US… jadi saya tak suka membazir kain :blush: Lagi satu, bila kita lukis dulu atas kertas (beserta dengan ukuran) nanti kita tak akan tersilap jahit, betul tak?

Hehe itu ironing board saya. Buruk kan? Dah hangus terbakar, haha! Minggu lepas ibu dah beli iron baru, sebab iron lama jatuh, pecah terus. Tapi iron sekarang semua ringan-ringa. Saya suka iron lama, berat macam batu! Bagus, tak payah susah-susah nak tekan bahagian lipatan jahitan tu.

Kebanyakan barang-barang jahit saya simpan dalam bekas, siap dengan label. Saya ni memang jenis disorganized, jadi bila nak menjahit je huru-hara mencari barang… :panic: tak ke buang masa? haha Tengok The Oprah Show, dia suruh ‘declutter’… jadi saya kemas la studio menjahit saya. Lebih kemas dan menarik bukan? Aaah, label tu boleh download dekat iDiY, banyak benda menarik dekat situ!

Embroidery Sewing Machine

Owh btw, I’m totally hyped and excited… Purchased an embroidery sewing machine, will be delivered to me in early July! I have so many plans/designs sketched for this! So, you’ll be expecting a lot of things, EMBROIDERED… soon!

oh yes, the new sewing machine cost me RM6000! *gasp for air :yuck: 

New flavors for Ohimesan™ Series

Been busy making Ohimesan™(s), loads of them! In fact I’ve finished making 20 Ohimesan™(s) this week! fuh~~ and now I’m adding 6 new flavors to the store (and more to come!) which are,

1. Black Meadow Ohimesan
2. Hearty Hearts Ohimesan
3. Mary in Blue Ohimesan
4. Mary in Red Ohimesan
5. Psychedelic Wave Ohimesan
6. Thistle Cherry Ohimesan

Prices may vary since the fabrics are slightly costly. Prices of each Ohimesan are from RM3.50 to RM4.50. English cotton cost more than Japanese Cotton, but I love them both and don’t mind buying because the quality is good (and also if the design is eye-catching!).

Online shopping, are you up for it?

I’m addicted to online shopping, comfortable buying things online and I don’t mine buying from outer Malaysia. I spent more time at home (and in front of the PC) and didn’t have the chance to go shopping. I only have Fizzy and Sirah to go out with every weekend, if not… I went out with my mum to shop for fabrics and sewing materials.

By the way, Jezmine is selling a few of her clothes and bags, so do check them out at her blog. I love her style, she rawks! I booked 2 red bags from her which price at RM30 and RM35, will be paying her next week. (sekarang tidak ada duit lagi~ huhu)

Fabric Fetish~

I’m very addicted with vintage/retro-ish fabrics or any beautiful fabrics, especially Amy Butler’s! (siapa boleh tolong belikan Amy Butler’s? siapa yang dok oversea la~ *wink wink*) Bought 7 different fabrics last week, haha! Most are used to make Ohimesan™(s).

Paper toys, very cheap and kawaii!

Since I (*cough* *cough* my dad-la) bought Canon IP3300, I love downloading paper toys and printing them on Art Card. It’s fun and cheap (plus so kawaii too). Check Ready Mech for free flatpack toys, it will only take 10-15 minutes of your time to build one! Enjoy!
