I personally love this print, Tablecloth in Brown from Anna Maria Horner’s Garden Party Collection. I’m still in love with damask print, but have only use it for tote and home decor. Never thought that damask print can be used for garment, but this one is so nice! Right?!!

Will definitely use this print for my baju kurung! :blush:

Ingat tak entri sebelum ini tentang designer fabric untuk dibuat baju kurung? hehe guess what? saya dah beli 8 ela kain dengan 4 corak yang berbeza!!! :aww: Tersangat teruja ni, tak sabar nak suruh Madam Anne jahit baju kurung dari fabrik-fabrik tu :cheer:

Pada pendapat saya, kain-kain cotton US ni sedikit tebal dari Viscose dan ia tak mudah berkedut. It’s thick but wearable. Harap-harap tak menyebabkan rasa panas.

Jadi, minggu ini saya dan Madam Anne akan cuba jahit sepasang baju kurung (for dearest me ‘lah of course :hehe:) dan prototype  ini akan diuji keselesaannya. Sama ada sesuai atau tidak dengan cuaca panas lembap Malaysia ni~ ps: 

Ops, sebelum saya terlupa. Fabrik ini saya beli hanya 2 ela untuk setiap corak dan akan digunakan untuk baju ‘nya sahaja. Untuk kain bawah ‘nya pula saya akan gunakan plain cotton (mungkin RM25 semeter) atau opsyen yang lebih murah iaitu kain kosong biasa~ ps:

• labuh baju = 40″
• pinggang kain = 26″
• labuh kain = 39″

:happy: sila lah kongsi~ Kalau prototype ‘nya menjadi, saya mungkin akan jual baju-baju kurung ni. Tapi masih dalam perancangan…

4 yards of 44″/45″ cottons can be made into 1 pair of baju kurung.

8 yards of cotton plus shipping will cost me; 8 x USD8 + USD12.95 = USD76.95 and that’s about RM300++ ps:

Suggestion

Btw, a customer emailed me a suggestion;

i have a suggestion here, is it possible to make a compartment outside of the laptop sleeve, like a piece of cloth attach to it, so we can slip in hard drives, cd or pendrives in it. just a suggestion, it would be very convenient. =D

Herm, I’m still thinking on how to incorporate an outside compartment… Don’t want it to be too bulky right? Maybe a small slot the sized of a cd???

Magnetic snaps are often use as purse’s or bag’s closure. I prefer using magnetic snap as it looks more stylish than sewn-on snap button. Plus, it is easier to deal with.

I know a shop in Kota Bharu selling these, but it’s quite costly. RM4 for each pair! Aiiyaaaa, that is so expensive lah! :bawl:  I beg for discount and the shop owner only gave me RM0.50/pair off, IF i buy 5 pairs~

So, I really… really need your help :pfft: do tell me, where can I buy magnetic snaps… without costing me bones and limbs! ps:

My findings…

I search on eBay and found this user (Ah Kwok Supplies) from Hong Kong. Besides magnetic snaps, they have other things like purse feet, purse frame and buckles… which really delectable! :inlove:

Not to forget, on Etsy! I’ve found a shop (CottonTouch) selling similar crafty supplies and she’s from Thailand. So, that means shipping must be cheaper since Thailand is nearer to Malaysia… rite? :hehe:

So, what do you think? Is it wise for me to buy these, online? I dunno if I will be charged with tax or not. But, it is definitely cheaper rite

I’ve divided the clothes, clothes that still in very good condition (or I seldom wear them) are for sale. Another lot is to be given to charity. There are lots of baju kurungs too, worn a few times and still looking new. I can’t pass it down to my sister, she’s a size bigger than me.

Huge price slash on OLD Stocks

Like i said before, I’m clearing out BJX.STORE’s old stock. This is my first prototype, and really glad it turned out ok (not like my previous laptop sleeve, lunyai dikerjakan). The outer material is from Amy Butler’s Midwest Collection. I should change the black snap button to magnetic purse snap. Anyone know where can I buy magnetic purse snap? (Do I have to order them online, postage cost me more these days because of the petrol price hike lah!)

Complete with 2 compartment and 1 zipped compartment. Medium batting and interfacing to maintain shape and sturdiness. Metal strap is detachable. This is a big clutch, sized at 11″ width and 6″ height. Suggested selling price is RM45. My aim is to get it done this weekend, 6 clutches. Weeeee!

If I buy all these from the overseas company, it will definitely gonna cost me bones and limbs! Err… But I absolutely fell in love with these fabrics and didn’t found any similar design here in Malaysia. Or perhaps I didn’t do enough digging?

Cost for these lovely fabrics?

I did survey the online market price for designer’s fabrics. Overall, for 100% lightweight cotton the maximum price is USD9.50 per yard (which is less 3inches than a meter). Yes, the fabrics are sold by yard, measured in 1/4 yard increments. Minimum cut for each fabrics is usually a half yard.

International Shipping, err to Malaysia?

Most of the online store that provide international shipping, use the most economical way to ship small international orders using Global Priority Mail Flat-Rate Envelopes. And delivery is within 6-10 business days but will take up longer than that due to being held by the customs. This envelope is USD13.00 each and will be able to hold 5-9 yards (based on fabrics weight, width and type).

Is there any tax charges?

I ordered a yew yards from 2 stores, and the packages arrived safely to my home in 10 days time… with NO TAX charges. *phew*

I’m not sure about this part, but there was no tax charges when ordering from these online stores. (will update this part later, still unsure bout this)

But I did call the PosMalaysia’s Customer Service, they failed to provide me good answers on these matters. *bleh

Can we get these in Malaysia’s store, I’m uncomfortable with online purchases?

I dunno bout this since I’m not in KL or any big cities and will not be able to do enough surveys. That’s why I just love shopping through online stores, it save me a lot of time. Everything is at the point of your fingers, and just hafta wait for the package to arrive. hehe
