Where to buy magnetic snap?

By shambie adzhan • Sep 7th, 2008 • Category: HELP!

Does anyone know any shop selling magnetic purse snap? I really need these magnetic closure, in large quantities. My last resort is to buy them over eBay but hell, the shipping will cost me lot!!! :panic:

Magnetic snaps are often use as purse’s or bag’s closure. I prefer using magnetic snap as it looks more stylish than sewn-on snap button. Plus, it is easier to deal with.

I know a shop in Kota Bharu selling these, but it’s quite costly. RM4 for each pair! Aiiyaaaa, that is so expensive lah! :bawl:  I beg for discount and the shop owner only gave me RM0.50/pair off, IF i buy 5 pairs~

So, I really… really need your help :pfft: do tell me, where can I buy magnetic snaps… without costing me bones and limbs! :ops:

My findings…

I search on eBay and found this user (Ah Kwok Supplies) from Hong Kong. Besides magnetic snaps, they have other things like purse feet, purse frame and buckles… which really delectable! :inlove:

Not to forget, on Etsy! I’ve found a shop (CottonTouch) selling similar crafty supplies and she’s from Thailand. So, that means shipping must be cheaper since Thailand is nearer to Malaysia… rite? :hehe:

Magnetic Snap - International Shop

Shop Size Quantity in set Price (USD) Shipping Ships From 1 unit (USD)
CottonTouch's Etsy Shop 14mm 50 $15.00 $9.00 Thailand $0.48
handknit168's Etsy Shop 14mm 50 $10.50 $7.00 Hong Kong $0.35
handknit168's Etsy Shop 18mm 50 $12.50 $11.00 Hong Kong $0.47

Magnetic Snap - Local Shop

Shop Size Minimum Quantity in set Price Postage Brick&Mortar Shop
Snazzy&Such 18mm 1 RM1.90 RM6.00 -
Epal Craft Store (Kota Bharu) 18mm 1 RM4.00 - Yes

Opinions!

So, what do you think? Is it wise for me to buy these, online? I dunno if I will be charged with tax or not. But, it is definitely cheaper rite ;)

I know that at ETSY - handknit168 is quite cheap and the price is OK.

You can buy 10 sets, 20 sets or 50 sets from “handknit168″, or even you can request your order volume.

50 pairs of 14mm Nickel magnetic snaps;
USD10.50 + USD7 = USD17.5

50 pairs of 18mm Nickel magnetic snaps;
USD12.50 + USD12.5= USD25
