Graywork is a follow-up to the black and white collection titled Linework from 2020. It is a neutral collection designed in layered shades of gray, created to sit quietly and confidently between bold rainbows. What began as an all-gray concept slowly evolved to include small touches of color, adding just enough energy to keep things lively. Leaving a collection completely without color proved impossible.
For the main prints, the focus is on animals that naturally live their lives in shades of gray: wolves, bears, snow leopards, puffins, and sea lions. These eight large-scale prints are highly illustrative and rich in detail, intentionally designed for fussy cutting and meant to stand as the stars of the collection.
The coordinating prints are reworked variations of existing True Colors designs, alongside a few new textures. While they play a supporting role to the hero prints, they are essential for tying everything together and smoothing out the gradients of gray. The multicolored Stripe returns on both soft gray and charcoal gray grounds, and the Poms join the mix in a new rainbow version to coordinate with the stripes. New medium and dark shades of Fairy Dust are scattered throughout, complementing the classic tonal grays used for backgrounds and blending.
To complete the collection, elements that function like solids were introduced. These include new Tiny Dots and a brand new tonal print of repeating triangles called Kinda Shady. Though packed with artistic detail, Graywork is designed first and foremost to be practical and versatile. It works beautifully on its own or paired with other collections for even greater flexibility.
